When he gets on top, he’s a nightmare. His ground control is paralyzing and punch power is a fight ender. But that same explosiveness is his biggest weakness. He goes so hard early that he often empties the gas tank before the fight settles in. You can see it in his fights with Blood Diamond and Court McGee — when things are going his way, he looks unstoppable, but once fatigue kicks in, his form breaks down, his entries get sloppy, and his reactions to strikes get worse.

That’s where Gorimbo becomes live. Themba might not have the raw strength Wells does, but he’s far more measured in his approach. His clinch work and control against the fence are clean, his takedown setups are patient, and he uses his length well when the fight’s at range. He’s not a knockout artist, but he understands how to pick his moments — especially when his opponents slow down. Wells has a bad habit of reacting poorly when he gets tagged, almost panicking and shooting desperation takedowns that leave his neck out or put him in bad scrambles. Gorimbo can absolutely capitalize on that. He’s a grinder who thrives in ugly, tiring fights, and once the explosiveness of Wells starts to fade, Gorimbo’s consistency and discipline start to take over.

Prediction: Themba Gorimbo via Decision Wells is an absolute tank — freakish strength, explosive takedowns, and raw athleticism that allows him to muscle through positions most welterweights couldn’t dream of.
