I’m confident he gets the job done. Petrino’s still raw in a lot of ways, but the potential is all there—he’s well-rounded, powerful, and knows how to dig deep when the fight gets gritty. He’s got solid boxing, legit wrestling, and most importantly, he doesn’t fold when the gas tank starts fading. That alone separates him from a lot of these bigger guys.

Petrino’s style is patient—he’s not out here rushing finishes or swinging wild. He takes his time on the feet, picks his shots, keeps everything tight and calculated. And unless he finds that clean shot early, he’s totally comfortable keeping it at a measured pace, slowly chipping away until it makes sense to mix in the wrestling. That’s where he’s really gonna burn clock and rack up control time. He knows how to break opponents down over the course of a round, and that makes him dangerous even when he’s not flashy.

Austen Lane? He just doesn’t have the tools to hang with that. Big dude, sure. Athletic, yeah. But skill for skill, he brings nothing that should really worry Petrino. His defense is shaky, he slows down fast, and he hasn’t shown he can deal with someone who’s gonna stay composed and mix it up the way Petrino can. Once the initial burst is gone, Lane starts getting real beatable, real quick.

Prediction: Vitor Petrino via Decision I don’t love the move up to heavyweight for Petrino long-term, but in this matchup?
