But the actual effectiveness of that path depends heavily on how clean his entries are, how committed he is to chain wrestling, and whether he can maintain control once the fight hits the mat. That’s where the problems start for him.

Le is scrappy. He’s aggressive and isn’t afraid to shoot, but his shots are often telegraphed and come with poor setup. He’ll dive from too far out and lacks the kind of technical depth to consistently bring down even mid-tier defensive fighters. Against someone like Bolanos, who has much sharper eyes and reactive defense than he’s been credited for, Le’s takedown entries start to look more like Hail Mary attempts than a sustainable strategy.

On the feet, it’s not even close. Bolanos is levels above. He’s a high-level striker with years of elite Muay Thai experience and precision that’s rare in MMA. He doesn’t throw for volume – he throws to hurt. And he’s not just wild power either; he picks his shots, mixes up targets beautifully, and has some of the most creative elbow work in the division. Le leaves his chin high, his entries are naked, and he tends to rush combinations without covering exits. That’s a recipe for a highlight reel moment against someone like Bolanos.

Even if Le gets a takedown or two, the question becomes: can he hold Bolanos down and avoid damage for three rounds? Because unless he’s chaining takedowns together, maintaining back control, or landing consistent ground and pound, the moment Bolanos gets up, he’s right back in the danger zone. And Bolanos doesn’t need much time or many shots to make it count.

Prediction: Gaston Bolaños inside the distance On paper, Quang Le’s clearest – and really only – path to victory is through wrestling and control.
