Prediction: Kevin Holland inside the distance
Rodriguez has solid hands. He’s got that slick boxing rhythm, throws in combinations, and he’s comfortable in the pocket. But the big issue is that he’s kind of a stationary target once he’s in motion. He throws, but his feet stay planted—and that’s a huge problem against someone like Holland, who’s constantly moving, switching stances, sliding in and out of range with ease. Holland’s ability to cover distance quickly, and his comfort throwing from weird angles, is going to throw Rodriguez off rhythm early and often.
And it’s not just the movement. Holland’s accurate with his shots whether he’s kicking from the outside, firing a counter, or scrapping in close. Rodriguez is hittable, and if you give Holland clean looks for too long, the power’s eventually going to show. He doesn’t need volume to hurt you—just timing and space, and Rodriguez is going to give him both.
This isn’t a fight where grappling is going to save anybody. Rodriguez isn’t a threat to take this down, and Holland’s not going to shoot unless he absolutely has to. So we’re looking at a straight-up striking battle, and in that type of fight, Holland’s range, speed, and variety are going to be too much. Eventually, he’s going to tag Rodriguez with something big, and with how Rodriguez hangs around in the pocket too long, it’s only a matter of time before one of those shots puts him down.
Holland by finish feels like the call. Too fast, too accurate, too mobile.
